RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

((...Um, how can you be in the tavern and also watching and listening to us in the mages guild? Anything like scrying takes intense concentration and of course a mages guild would be warded against eavesdropping.))

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

((That and we're inside a tent, so watching us would be pretty impossible...on the other side of the encampment from what I gather...get the geography right before you post Kori.))

((Actually the mages tent was the closest tent, thats why you found it so quickly MM. ))

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

(( yesh yesh, but Qesun didn't mention how close it was...closest is a relative term. It could be the closest in five feet or the closest in a quarter mile. I dunno, fact is that the tent is enclosed and Darwin left you to join the group in the tavern...let's move along.))

Favarin nods, "True statement, but mages are notorious for not being able to work with "lesser beings" without being in complete control. We'll see what happens. Maybe you, or we, can talk some sense into them...but I don't think we should waste too much time on them if we don't have to. If they are obviously too egotistical to listen we should try to work on getting a good physical barrier up, then worry about them." Favarin looks around again, "Whenever they finally decide to come out and speak with us..." He takes a comfortable squatting position from which he can quickly move into action, tilting both of his weapons on his back to get all the way down, and waits.

Twain raises an eyebrow, "I hope you aren't planning on using those."

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

((No, no he has an ability to do that.  It is like the spell Mages eye or whatever it is called.  Well I will leave it up to Qesun to make the dicision of makeing the mages get mad or whatever.))

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

Favarin grins as he looks up at Twain, he chuckles and says, "No, but it's a habit to always be ready. I've met my fair share of bad situations and I've learned that even if something isn't going to go wrong it can, and that I should always be prepared for it."

((Edit: I just tilted the weapons so he could get into the squatting position without the butts of them hitting the ground...I couldn't quite figure out how to say it in the post...I guess that'd've worked eh? Darn my wordy nature!))

((How is Darwin concentrating hard on trying to see what we're doing if he's talking with the rest of the group? That and what, he can tune in on our frequency or what? There're hundreds, if not thousands, of voices going on all over the place, not to mention the fact Twitch brought into concideration...I dunno I'm going to stop arguing and let the DM figure it out.))

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

    [GM Post:]

[Mages Guild: Favarin and Sir Twain]
After several minutes of waiting, the apprentice returns with an extremely pudgy fellow with enough flaps of fat to rival an elephant.  He wears an ornate robe made of only the finest blue silks, and instead of having gold die for the fancy embrodery, he has gold-fiber in lace-like weaves.  He even has fancy 'shoulder guards' that more then likely are only for the looks.  before looking at Twain, he raises his eye to Favarin.  ...Not in the 'OMGWTF its a minotaur' way, but in the 'Hmm...  That is quite interesting' sort of way.  After a look of decent length, his sight returns to Sir Twain.
"Welcome to the tents of the Mages Guild, Sir Twain, Paladin of the Church of Torm.  You honor me with your presence," he says with a baritone voice, "I'm sorry for my Apprentices treatment of you.  It was innopropriat.  Come, come in back with me to my temporary office and we can discuse the reason for your visit to our humble tents.  ...Bring your friend minotaur as well.  He interests me..."  The blobuous man turns about and begins to waddle back into the tent.

[The Sleeping Giant: Shelna, Mikina, Darwin, and Raven]
After the Waitresses take down the last of their orders, they goes back into the back to get their drinks and food.  Darwin, There are many areas protected by all sorts of wards and spells.  Looks almost like a connect the dot page.  Unfortunatly, one of the 'dots' blots your 'view' of Twain and Favarin.  Also, something gives you the feeling that the likelyhood of a fight is nil to none, unless you'd like to start one, which I rather doubt.
Mikina, the waitresses are looking less happy with your pressence then they did before.  The manager takes notice and begins to talk to them.  After he talks to them, they begin to avoid gazing at you instead.  ...Could it have been something you said?

((PS:  Wizard's eye:  It's impossible to hear conversations with the spell.  Wizard's Eye only gives the positions of creatures, people, and spells in a one mile radius as well as giving you a fairly good idea of the area's terrain.

PSS: The Mages guild is most definetly protected from scrying and the like by very potent wards.))

Sir Twain smiles pleasantly, "Of course." He follows closely, his armor clanking softly as he walks.

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

Favarin stands easily, looking suspiciously, with a slight glare, at the blobulous mage's retreating back. He follows Twain and the mage back into the room, re-situating his axe and bow to be comfortable. .oO(He looks at me as if I'm an experiment, something to be studied) He glares a little more at the thought, then calms his features, putting a neutral look on his face, and follows in silence.

"Some what. What is going on here? I hear there are golems and where do I go the help destroy them. I would like some one to work with me whatch my back." Raven says with growing anger at peoples rudeness in this place.

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

Darwin opens his eyes.  "Oh sorry.  I did not mean to ignore you, but I was trying to see what some of the other people I have met here were doing.  The problem was the place they were had a magical sheild blocking me from seeing what they were doing.  I had to keep focus.  Oh sorry for being so rude.  I am Darwin."  He stands up walks over to shake Ravens hand.

RE: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]

Shelna looks at Raven with an apologetic look.  "I am sorry, I have just been trying to memorize a new spell for a while and I zone out from time to time.  I am Shelna Morningflower, royal conjuerer of the Elven kingdom and heir to the throne.  I am pleased to meet you.  About the golems, you know as much as we know.  No person has told us anything about them yet.  They haven't even come to look for us to ask for our help.  We all have just arrived in this town like you and from our travels, developed a great hunger.  So, like any normal traveler, we came to the tavern to get a little bite to eat before the big adventure.  I also am trying to enjoy a little bit of peace because I know there will be no peace for a long time once we start on this mission to rid this town of its problems."
