: Lexx

CRS2117
Does anyone else watch this show? Who else agrees season 2 was better than season 3?

Major Kerina
I saw the tail-end with those creatures that were taking over the Earth....the Kerats (sounds like Carrots)...didn't get the ending though...

Ryvaken Tal`Draco
This has to be one of the dumber sci-fi shows out there. Sadly, they take pride in this and pass it off as a good thing.

Acanous
Stan-ley Tweedle, captain of the Lexx!
It's almost as cool as the Joxer the mighty song!(s)
and I like the show, especially the Brunan-ji race... (sp?) they were kickass, but became intellectuals, than died out in a war.. an Ironic end for such a noble (but oddly hair styled) people.

Nothings comes close to the 1337ness of Joxers Uber MCing Skillz, he should do an album or something

"Im Joxer, Im mighty, yeah! I got a big sword!

It's so big!

Yeah baby, Im Joxer!"

Acanous
he had some SWEET songs, he did. friend of mine was in his fan club.
oops, did I do that? I kinda switched the topic.... IT'S NOT TOO LATE! SALVEGE IT!

Matt_Katt
i sorta weved in and out of the show.

CRS2117
Herclues and Xena are two shows I like watching, half cheesy but still fairly accuracte.

At least they don't have laser bolts that you can deflect with a light sabre.

Acanous
light SABER. not sabre. there's a difference.

Major Kerina
I never realized that....they're light, not bullets...so how can they be deflected?

Acanous
ever seen the Matrix? Jedi slow down time and move at bullet time. the deflection of light happens when the "Solid light" of the saber hits the "Light Wave" of a blaster. it's all just speculation in the movies.

CRS2117
Yeah, and Tacyons can be slowed down to zero speed.

CRS2117
And I though Jedis gained their reflexs by having short term peisence? (not sure if that's the word im looking for, but it means being able to see forward in time)

DODurden
That is correct. What is interesting about Jedi duels is that it's not so much a brawl as it is a Chess Match. Each Fighter is trying to out-predict his oponent, see further into the future than his opponent, and lead his opponent to perform perfectly good blocks that will suddenly and innevitably lead to his/her/its decapitation/evisceration/impalement.

A Jedi blocks a blaster shot (not lasers, blasters. Slower than light pulsed energy) by putting his saber in the place to deflect it even before the shot is actually fired. The intense EM field of the blade deflects the energy.

CRS2117
Really? I thought it was a buckytube (or some other mono molecular super strong filament) suspended by a force field.

Ahh... In that case yeah, kind of makes sense.

But if they just called them plasma guns then I would think that would be much better, after all plasma is ionised and an electrical device such as a light saber should be able to deflect them.

Im not a big fan of SW, so when watching the films I never really got much of an empathisis that they were using non laser guns.

Ahh right, that's a pretty plusible excuse but what about those turbolaser cannons? Any tie Iv'e seen those they were in space and each and every time they were fired A SLOW MOVING LINE OF LIGHT CAME FOURTH.

Does George Lucas have some bitter resentment of his science teacher or something? Because I alayws wondered how he could have allowed such a breach of physics in his films, without giving any reason as to why.

Artistic license is fine and all, but some times it really is over used. One example I can think of was the "lasguns" used when the house shiled of house atradies came down in the dune film. Now what if someone was using a personal shield? (and in the case of Duncan, someone WAS using a personal shield) Unless in the heat of battle the sardukar actually are able to think ~"hmm, better not shoot him with my lasgun, or a thermonuclear sized explosion might occur!"

MaRiNe
I liked it cuz it was borderline porn.

Major Kerina
Huh?...Where'd that come from?

CRS2117
Oh Lexx did have a lot of sexual shenanigans in it.

CRS2117
I loved that epidsode when Stan became femine and Xev very much so mascluline.

Major Kerina
In personality or appearance?
And which series was it in?

CRS2117
Season two, when lexx ate that nasty biochem waste. Their personalites changed, not their appearance, which made it all the more funny.

Also did anyone see that epidsode when Kai went into green eye mode? I loved the way he laughed in that, and I cannot seem to emulate it. It does sound like someones lungs are being crushed though.
