where is the best place to get a domain from ?


I'm headed toward the artist plan from http://www.geekside-hosting.com/plans.php

I want to be able to use that php updating crap that everyone is talking about in my other thread. I have no idea how to set anything up

Geekside is awesome. Jon is really helpful and speedy with his tech stuff.

If you're looking to not pay or something. You can check out quite a few servers to avoid it. Check out Comic-toast's forum. Alot of the server admins post there.

You can also click on my sig and give into commericalism and be another consumer whore.

Oh and the cheapest quality VS price domain register is Aplus.net.

I signed up with geekside and I just used the registrar they suggest which is godaddy.com

I've tried using it, and it seems wasy to set up (I never did use it, since my host didn't support PHP >< )

magizedd, planetsourcecode is a pretty good place for scripts, but it's SO SLOW. i'm trying to load the search page right now.

i agree with xelo, only cause oktagone hosts all my stuff.

They're the most affordable out there. I've never seen anywhere else where I get 10 gigs of bandwidth for only $2.50 per month.

Geekside is overpriced majorly compared to Oktagone. Their 'silver' deal is worse than the lowest deal on Oktagone. You get less space, less MySQL Databases, and double the price. Not to mention they're windows servers (Nothing else can provide .ASP support).

I got the same deal as Oktagone's lowest elsewhere with no setup fee. Their banner here says no setup fee, but if you click it, it says there is. I'd reccomend Oktagone 'cause their about as cheap as you can get. I've tried cheaper stuff and they've always found a way to try to screw me over... $5 - 10GB of BW. Don't try for cheaper! (Except that free junk that gives you site spam...)

I would like to see this better deal. Also, that banner is from last month, when they had the no-setup-fee special.

What about them? I've rad them & I don't see any conflict between this thread & the rules.

Fuitad was pimping out his services. Not only is he evading his ban, he's also breaking the advertising rule.

Fuitad? I've seen that name only once. It was on the 8-Bit Theatre contact page. Why were they banned?

He used to own this site. Then when he was desperate for money, he sold it to Threeboy. However, he still remained 'staff' on the page for programming purposes. After an argument about the ads, Fuitad changed the root password on the server and deleted the site. He was banned after that.
