So yesterday I got a nice package in the mail.  The razor phone that Ry put in the washing machine and then asked Cingular to send a replacement one on my account without my knowledge was sent back to me along with a bill for 210 dollars.

Gah.

It seems there are moisture detection stickers they put on the inside of the cell phones now, and it detected the "moisture", aka the spin cycle of the washing machine.  They already charged me for the phone once, because Ryan never bothered to send the phone back (why should he bother, it was my account), but I packaged it and send it back and they took the bill for it off of my account.  Now they've put it back on, so I turned off his phone.  He has a day or so  to take over the account so I won't have to pay the 150 cancellation fee, if not,  I'm going to report the phone as stolen so he can't activate it on his own.

Lessons learned

  • Put a password on my accounts, obviously the last 4 of the social is a worthless security measure and passwords probably should be required by companies anyways.
  • when I get a gut feeling about someone (I've felt that Ry was a snake in the grass waiting to be stepped on for over a year now, I tried to fix him, it failed) go with it, its been right enough times..actually its always been right, so there you go.
  • don't feel regret about Ry's situation, he put himself there, he'll have to live with it.

On the flip side, we've been playing D&D regularly again which has been really cool.  Jenn is turning into a good DM, I started a new game with a couple we just met who are turning out to be really cool, and I hope to revive my evil eberron campaign shortly.

I planned everything with the idea that we would get into our new house early, and so far it looks like we'll have 3 extra days we didn't think we would.   I'm pretty excited, I haven't seen the new house yet, and behind on my packing.  but if things go well, by Saturday our old house will be in the process of being cleaned and we'll be setting things up in our new house. :)
