Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
"We will discuss our plans at the up coming meeting;
now my business here is concluded, I need to visit the temple representatives.
At that Navrick saluted the gathered leaders and left.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
Kenna trotted to keep up with the paladin's longer stride. "Mind if I come with you? I might be able to help" She said, and, catching sight of Ember, scoops her up, carrying the cat in her arms.
I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
Yashwi had used the time to consider, and merely followed along with Kenna, deciding it best to use this person to learn more about the political climate, and said as much to the man.

((So, do we assume that we reached the clerics without incident, or wait for Qesun? Also, I did Kenna stats & spells. Probably grossly incorrectly. But they're there in the profile thread, if you want to go laugh at my incompetence. ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) ))

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
[Streets: Twain, Yashwi, and Kenna] "Don't
take too long, now," Jager states as he goes to see if his fellow
council member is fine, now that he no longer has guests.
The group finds the streets to be as busy as they were earlier.
The church which the clerics are using isn't hard to find, as it juts
above the crowd of tents. It's nothing fancy, a large wooden
structure with a stone foundation made to fit the mine workers for
services before all this mess happened. Still, despite its size,
there is a village's worth of tents for out-of-town clerics, as the
interior is being reserved for use as a hospital. From random
bits of chatter gathered from passing folks, it sounded like the
Clerics just need to be told that the guilds were getting
together. It also looked like all the command action was being
preformed from the church.
[Fighters Guild: Favarin]
Lishnil, of course, recognizes Favarin. "You know, you only need
to introduce yourself twice in a day, Favarin," He said before getting
up from the table where he had some maps, others continuing to discuss
the maps as Lishnil went over to Favarin and began guiding the minotaur
towards his room. "Now, what happened over at the Wilders Guild that's
so important?"

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
((Sorry...it's been so long I forgot that we already knew the fighter's guild leader =P))
The minotaur nodded to Lishnil as he stood and gratefully followed the
man into the room, "A scuffle in the ranger's guild. Presumably a man,
though cloaked in shadows and weilding magic, attacked Jagar. It seems
that only brute force can convince these beings fully...after that and
all that Twain had said to the leaders, they have agreed to attend the
gathering of the guilds this evening." He watched Lishnil's face become
slightly confused, "That would be the meeting that you're about to
call. You'll need to send runners to all of the guilds." Not pausing at
Lishnil's open mouth and breath to object Favarin plowed ahead,
"Your...our...enemies have become much more bold than they apparantly
have been. Zia's mind was under a sort of control, in order to mask our observer's identity. Jagar, the almighty leader of the rangers, could not hear the man. Only Twain could sense the evil in the thing and point him out, lucky that he did too, I don't know what would have happened...certainly we'd be caught unawares and unprepared." Favarin paused for a moment to gather his thoughts quickly and to let Lishnil process everything being said.
The minotaur continued, "The fact,.though, is that something is going to happen, soon. Spies are usually not so bold as to attack leaders of guilds unless something is going to take place. Even if this is not so, the chance must be siezed to unite the guilds fully, who knows when this will happen. Twain is going as we speak to the clerics, by the time your runners get there Zia will be well again and will be able to recieve messages, and I'm sure the archers and mage guilds are as ready as they'll ever be. I will certainly help in any way you wish." Favarin looks now at the man before him expectantly, waiting for his reply.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
((Yay!))
Kenna, staring around at the tents, looking for some indidcation for where they might find the leaders, asked Twain, "Why were you with a minotaur anyway? I've never heard of them exept as stupid, vicious beasts."
I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
Navrick smiled at Kenna as he strode towards the church. “The
world is full of wondrous creature, few of which are as they first appear or
what they are rumored to be.” His silvery plate mail glints in the sun light
with a light golden sheen matching his hair as he made his way up the steps. “Favarin
is an intriguing creature, as noble as he is strong; I can sense the potential for
great good in him.” He strides into the entry hall, mighty bastard sword
swaying with his motion in its scabbard strapped to his back, the diamond
topping the hilt reflecting the light afternoon sun brilliantly. “Everyone has
the potential for good of course; one must simply realize it and choose to put
others before themselves, sacrifice is the key to having a pure heart…” he
gazes about the entry hall to the church. His piercing blue eyes shining like
twin sapphires. “He chose to come here, not for profit, not for fame, not for
any other reason than to help.” His eyes glide down to look straight into hers;
he seems to look beyond Kenna though… as if he was viewing her very soul. “That
is why I was with the Minotaur miss.”

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
Kenna flushed with embarrassment, feeling like an idiot for assuming that the minotaur was a dumb animal. "Sorry if I ask any more dumb questions. I just feel so stupid sometimes. I've never been this far from home in my life. Didn't think I'd ever leave home, truth be told."
I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
"I understand your eloquent tongue, but I question the truth of your words. I've known many a minotaur and few have shown the restraint I feel may be neccessary. You're sure that this Favarin is reliable? Having a creature which may turn on you at any moment is far more dangerous than joining one you know to be a threat. It isn't my intent to be rude, I merely fear for the safety of Kenna here, I feel I could care for myself if I needed to."
Yashwi's words were tainted by a slight mistruth, as he truly did think it ironic that he was questioning whether Favarin was reliable, when he was just as inherently unreliable. Still, it was dangerous to travel with a Minotaur which seemed to have intelligence superior to that of a majority of his kind, and as time had progressed Yashwi had begun to consider whether it was a good idea to keep up his elaborate facade for any longer. Was there still reason to keep it up? Especially when someone who appeared to be incredibly devout could slice him in half if he was caught in a lie.
"So, Twain, you appear to be a very truthful and honest person, carrying no fear of knowledge of your past. Are you a crusader of some sort? You carry yourself as one who is quite assured of his path. Such strength I find can be... reliable in it's own way."
Though Yashwi's words were quite true, interestingly enough, that reliability allowed Yashwi to know whether or not he could manipulate the man. Twain was strong, but might be easily mainpulated because of his ideals, so that may prove to be helpful toward Yashwi's ends.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
As soon as he said "I mearly fear for the safety of Kenna...", her eyebrows snapped together and for a moment she looked very, very pissed. She quicky replaced it with her normal expression of amusement, and after he finished, she said, "I'm short, Yalian, not a kid. I can take care of myself." in an amused voice. Bull. He doesn't care abut anyone but himself.
I swear, now you're just doing it to piss me off.

Re: We're Not Alone [Open, Epic]
Twain stood in the antechamber his peaceful azure eyes once
again sweeping the room studying the clerical symbols as he sought out someone
of a high position.
“Think nothing of it Kenna, you did not have the knowledge I
do and thus your fears are just and natural; think nothing of it… but still
hold this lesson to your heart and know not to judge so easily.”
Chuckles at Yashwi’s words, “As I said, there is good in
him; I can sense it.”
He nods to Yashwi’s questions, “I thank you for the
compliment, I am assured in my path because Torm guides my way personally; I am
simply a follower of his will, I’ve just been so blessed that he would choose
to take an active hand in my roll here.” He cracks his knuckles and shakes out the
soreness in his hands. “A crusader… I guess you could say that, I am a paladin;
more than that I have been blessed personally by Torm himself with the position
of Truth Sword.” His eyes slide over to Yashwi a penetrating look in them. “It
is my duty to search the lands and uncover falsehoods, where treachery and
trickery weave a web of evil I am drawn by Torm's hand and am bound to uncover
the truth for the sake of justice and the good of the people.” His eyes snap
back to the room as he says in a graver tone. “It is then my duty to deal with
the source of this taint swiftly and efficiently…”
He continues scouring
the room for someone of rank. “Of course, if you where asking about my military
career when you asked if I was a crusader
of some sort then the answer is thus; I’ve seen many battles, far to many…
yet I will no doubt see countless more before my end, I fought in the Mirage Wars
off to the east and then before then the Mage Slayer Wars to the north and many
other before them.” He shrugs, “I rose in my order swiftly by Torms will and
was assigned the position of General in both of the mentioned wars.” Sir Twain
sighs, “I hope I have answered your questions to satisfaction?”
